Tommy was born to parent’s betty jean and Thomas lee Miranda. His mother was a housewife and father used to worked as an employee for bell system. He also has two sibling named Peggy and penny. Miranda was really interested in outdoor activities from a young age. 

He got married to Bernie Cassidy on the 28th of February, 1981 and had three children, Jeremy, Jennifer, and Joshua Miranda. But they part away in 1996. Later he decided to live his life with sandy Jessop and got married to her.

In his junior and high school career, he has trapped different kinds of animals like raccoon, mink, muskrat, and foxes. And later he decided to live his life in the wild experiencing his hobbies. During his young life tommy was also interested in outdoor game like basketball, track, and football and was a part of the Ohio state track and field championship dash which extended to 220 yards. 

He graduated in 1976 and went Ohio state university in order to pursue basketball career. But soon he quit his college and started working odd jobs to fulfill his goal of being a trapper.

He started his professional career with small business that made its trapping cents for the fur trapping in 1982. In 1982 he got featured in a fur-fish-game magazine which focused in his trapping expertise. This exposure made Miranda a national sensation and worthy candidate to contribute his writing for magazine. And later in 1984 he moved to south Dakota where he started working as a predator control trapper. But he resigned his position and worked on his first trapping lesson video series called the Fox and coyote trapping east and west and got released on 1986. With that video he started the adventures of tom Miranda outdoor films and filmed 15 other videos. In 1990, he formed the tom Miranda outdoor lnc. along with his father and sandy brady.

In 1991 his series got aired on sports channel. With a border audience appreciation. This show was debuted on ESPN on the 4th of July, 1992. This show showed different adventures of Miranda including bull riding, scuba diving, fire walking, rodeo clown training, and many other exiting activities. eventually he started hosting the entire series. He is also engaged in ministry; he is running his campaign through different social media helping out the helpless people.
